James 1:17 (NLT) says that God never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
That stopped me last night before bed.
Shadow means there's "a dark area produced by a body coming between rays of light and a surface" or google also defines it as "used in reference to proximity, ominous oppressiveness, or sadness and gloom."
God doesn't have gloom near Him.
If we see a shadow of something dark here on this earth, it's not Him. He is fully light. Now, I wonder if when we see things through His eyes, evil is exposed and more obvious and we wonder why He lets the evil stay. But maybe it's more important to Him that the evil doesn't cover things here on earth. It can exist and be seen in the world as long as the choice is obvious and evil is seen. It's dangerous when evil isn't seen. That's when people stumble, mistake goodness for evil, and get hurt.
There's no shifting shadow.
Nothing.
All is light with God.
That's what I'm pondering today! It's not perfect ponderings... just ponderings! :-)
