overlook offense

"Overlook an offense and bond a friendship; fasten on to a slight and—good-bye, friend!" -Proverbs 17:9 Msg.

A lot of people are willing to hold onto grudges so they justify their feelings or make sure they are treated right. They disregard the friendship or relationship as a result. However, overlooking offenses holds up others above your own self, and this is the better path.

We make mistakes just as other people do, so give both you and others grace. That means you will need to patient as other people make mistakes... and it means you will need to be patient with your own self. Extending grace in both directions is wise!
